First glimpse at the voting trends!

Another phase of work

Today, we completed another phase of work on the IT Software Hit List. We have created a homepage on the blog ( invitaion ) and designed a favicon, which you can now see when visiting our main website at ithitsoft.com or right here on the blog. We ran into a small issue – the favicon file ended up in the wrong directory – but fortunately, everything turned out fine in the end.

How did it all begin?

One day, a man was listening to the Finale of a Music Chart on the radio and thought: "Why not create an all-time hit list... but for IT software?" He searched (almost) the entire internet and realized that such a ranking simply didn’t exist. After a moment of thought, he figured out that to make it happen, all he needed was:     A website on GitHub – because why not keep it simple?     A Google Form – because democracy matters!     A domain name – because every great project needs a home. The cost? Minimal. The effort? A bit more. The excitement? Sky-high! Thus, our service stands on three solid pillars: GitHub, a domain, and a Google Form. Why require Google login? On one hand, it limits voting to one per account. On the other hand, it prevents spam and keeps things fair. Will we build our own custom voting system in the future? Maybe. The first-ever IT Software Hit List ranking has officially gone live today. However, the launch didn’t have the best start. A post announcing the event in one of the Facebook tech groups was rejected, while in another group, it remained pending approval – which never came. The admin likely didn’t even see it. Despite these challenges, the IT Software Hit List is alive and has already gathered a few votes. We invite you to join the fun – cast your vote and be part of the ultimate ranking of legendary IT
